Hein Marais: Sitting it out

Everyone Forever Now - “Stoop Sitting” from Everynone on Vimeo.

The tone and languid goodwill bears the stamp of the talents behind this video, the superb Everynone collective. You can sample their other work here and here.

In three minutes, “Stoop Sitting” speaks more pointedly of our time than the hyper-feted Tree of Life manages in more than two hours. And its spry humanism puts to shame the labored and hectoring spiritualism of Terrence Mallick’s swan song.

Which maybe is just another way of explaining why Tree of Life will emerge with a cart of Oscars.
More on that, soon.
